Composition Design Course
You will choose from one of the three classes, “DAW”, “Writing”, and “Electronic Organ” depending on your field of interest. You will also be able to study composition and arrangement for wind ensembles. With guidance from currently active composers, you will be given private lessons customized to your individuality. Learning the foundational knowledge and skills is an important factor in composing, regardless of whether you want to create commercial music, or music as a work of art. By polishing your musical sensibility from traditional classical music to modernistic popular and jazz music, you will develop your skills to become a composer who can compose and arrange for any genre.
Starting with the basics, learn the skills needed to become a versatile performer
Concentrated into two years, master vocalization and breathing techniques and acquire a firm command of the basic ‘singing technique’. It is also possible to transfer into our 4-year program to further develop your singing skills. By cultivating the skills necessary to be a versatile performer, you will be ready to go on to become a singer, performer in musicals, middle school teacher, music school instructor and more.
Improve your playing technique with twice a week private lessons
Gain a firm understanding of musical notation and learn the fundamentals and basic technique of musical expression in order to become a piano performer. We will help you develop the application of your skills according to your musical tastes, strengthen your endurance for improvement, and build up a repertoire to support your creative ability. With our twice a week private lessons, you will be able to effectively improve your playing technique during your two years here.
Wind Instrument Course
Acquire technical ability with focused study and biweekly private lessons
Concentrated into two years, you will cultivate your playing technique and develop the ability to properly interpret performances in order to become a wind instrument musician with rich expressive ability. While 2 years may seem quite short, we have many motivated students who actively plan concerts and other projects and who go on to become instructors, educators, and active performers after graduation.
String Instrument Course
Improve your ability to perform and interpret music
Concentrated into two years, you will cultivate your playing technique and develop the ability to properly interpret performances in order to follow in the tradition of the great musicians of past generations. While 2 years may seem quite short, we have many motivated students who actively plan concerts and other projects and who go on to become instructors, educators, and solo/orchestral performers after graduation.
Develop rich expressive ability with biweekly private lessons
Concentrated into two years, you will cultivate your playing technique and develop the ability to properly interpret performances in order to become a percussionist with rich expressive ability. While 2 years may seem quite short, we have many motivated students who actively plan concerts and other projects and who go on to become instructors, educators, and solo/orchestral/brass band performers after graduation.
Classic Guitar/Mandolin Course
Receive instruction from one of Japan’s foremost guitarists
This course offers you the once in a lifetime chance to take private lessons from Guest Professor Shinichi Fukuda-an international performer with fans around the world-and Keigo Fujii-a world-renowned Japanese guitarist. Along with solo and ensemble techniques, you will also learn musical expression, sight-reading and all the other elements necessary to become a well-rounded guitarist.
Course in Japanese Music
Become a performer steeped in Japanese tradition
At our college, you can concentrate your studies on the ‘koto, shamisen and shakuhachi’ and participate in a large number of musical ensembles. Studying these alongside western music and staff notation, we are able to cultivate flexible musicians who can handle both traditional and modern music. At our Junior college you can select either the koto, shamisen or shakuhachi and work on improving your mastery of and expressive ability with one of these instruments. Experience solo and ensemble performances, while learning the instruments’ history and developing your knowledge of western music.
Polish your musical sensibilities while immersing yourself in this concentrated curriculum
Jazz covers a wide array of playing styles. Based on these, we will instruct you in the core fields of jazz through a combined approach of lessons, ensembles and lectures. Through one-on-one instruction and ensemble performances, you will acquire the technique, expressive ability and adlibbing skills expected of jazz musicians. Centered on biweekly private lessons, we have set up a dense curriculum so you can polish the musical sensibilities required for jazz.
Vocal Performance Course
Through private lessons taught by experienced and eminent vocalists, you will learn the skills required to become a top stage performer. By utilizing western music as the basis, the Vocal Performance Course will teach you how to acquire these skills, from singing and performing to producing and communication, as well as fashion. You will also be given the support you need to improve your skills, including being provided with many opportunities of performing before a live audience.
Popular Instrument Course
Through private lessons taught by currently active musicians, you will learn to develop your performances to a higher level, and to expand your expressional abilities. In addition, you will also learn how to develop your originality and ingenuity, including musical skills and business approaches that are appropriate to the current time. Many renowned creators today are also leading musicians, who work as arrangers and producers of recordings and live concerts. This course aims to teach students not only to be a professional level musician, but also to be capable of having a wide variety of skills.
Become an actor who can communicate the emotive elements of a work
Musical actors must possess both imagination and expressive technique. In this course taught by our wide array of creative staff, instructors experienced in theater, singing, classical dance and jazz dance will teach you how to deliver a stunning performance. While the training in singing, acting and dance is anything but easy, through devoted study you can become a performer capable of expressing the emotions of whatever part you play.
